About My Health Journal
In January 2022, I started my daily journal practice. Although I watched a few YouTube videos on how I should begin, I felt my approach was all over the place. Once I developed the discipline of just writing every day, I began to record my goals, plans, to-dos, wants, thoughts, ideas and more. It was through this daily practice that helped me to write my Vision, Mission, Values, Affirmation and Principle. It also helped to further energize my interest in health, healing & happiness.
Although journaling is a reflection of what floats through a person’s mind, it took on more meaning when I saw it all written in one place. I’m still excited about my journaling practice and look forward to using different techniques to expand my personal development plan.
Without working towards a balanced and focused intent, life will be filled with more frustrations than meaningful challenges. By defining my purpose, I am in a better position to pursue it by caring and improving the health of my mind, body, spirit, social relationships, finances and work.
Now, I want to share my experience and learnings as an example of how we can all help one another live our healthiest & happiest lives, together. I encourage you to share your experiences and learnings with those you trust and by taking steps to improve your happiness & health.
Why Is Health So Important To Me
When I started my career as a registered nurse, my focus was on caring and helping the sick. Then, in my late thirties, I started to experience cardiac symptoms. After two emergency room visits & follow-up medical appointments, I developed a deeper understanding on how my lifestyle was making me sick. With a proactive approach to nutrition, exercise and stress reduction, I developed a deeper understanding on how the body can heal itself and how it can harm itself. As the years passed, I moved to a continuous self improvement mindset which is focused on the

About me…
Vision: To eliminate self-inflicted & preventable diseases
Mission: To inspire others to pursue their happiness by living their healthiest lives.
Values: Love & Happiness
Affirmation: I will live my healthiest life by practicing self-care and by creatively sharing it with others.

I’m an off-road unicyclist who cares about making this world a better place. By caring, loving and supporting my family, friends and community, I have received the blessings of being surrounded by people who care, love and support me.
Through continuous self improvement and by focusing on my health, I put myself in a better position, everyday, to better understand what I need to do. And the more I learn and do, the more I am humbled by the world & the people around me.
Through my journaling practice, I have created a space that allows me to plan, think, explore and delve deeper into all my interests.
Like off-road unicycling, life will present itself with many bumps in the road. Some bumps will knock you out of your seat and some will throw you to the ground. But with a continuous self improvement mindset, you will be able to get up, brush off the dirt and get back in the saddle, again and again and again.
Life’s Purpose:
Although I thought I knew my life’s purpose, I challenged myself to write it down. My intent of this challenge was to better align my daily activities to my purpose.
Through journaling, I decided to use a strategic approach and develop my Vision, Mission, Values, Affirmation and Principles. However, soon after I started writing, I realized that it was not easy to get the words to say what I meant.
I decided to write my Vision, Mission, Values, Affirmation and Principles, every day. As a result, I slowly began to craft them into the statements listed below. This process took one month to complete, but it was well worth the time. Writing these statements everyday helped me to reinforce them and also helped me with aligning and prioritizing my current year’s initiatives.
It also helped me to realize that if I don’t actively work on my Six Healthy Life Elements, I will not have a deep understanding on how to inspire others to do the same. I will continue to revisit my Vision, Mission, Values, Affirmation and Principle statements and as the years pass, I am confident that I will get a deeper and richer understanding of each one of them.
If you decide to write your own statements, I included the basic definitions below. I hope you take on this challenge to help you to better define your own Life’s Purpose and to help strengthen all the activities you do, everyday.
My Strategic Approach is based on my:
